Pastor John Hardy is married to Leatha T. Hardy and has three children: David, Pamela and Darvin. A native of Virginia Beach, Pastor Hardy has resided in the Washington DC area for over 30 years where he served in the Washington DC Fire Department for 23 ½ years prior to retirement in 1994.
Throughout and beyond his experience in the DC Fire Department, Pastor Hardy has served faithfully in ministry culminating in more than 17 years of leadership experiences.
In June 1986 Pastor Hardy graduated from Jericho Christian Training Center College and Jericho Center College School of Ministry (formerly Jericho Baptist Church). He served at Jericho faithfully for 10 years under the leadership of the Late Bishop James R. Peebles and Pastor Betty Peebles.
Pastor Hardy went on to serve at Beacon Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Sterling, Virginia, where in addition to being licensed and ordained as a Minister of the Gospel on July 1, 1990, he also served as Assistant Pastor for 8 years and as Pastor for 1 year.
God then led him to join with Pastor Joshua Shonubi of New Life Chapel (formerly Action Chapel International), where he served as Assistant Pastor for 3 ½ years.
Throughout his ministry Pastor Hardy has continuously sought after God through various teaching and training opportunities. He is a licensed minister in both DC and the State of Virginia.
In February 1999, Pastor Hardy heard the call of God to head a multi-cultural church known for the teaching of the word and praise and worship. With the blessing of Pastor Joshua Shonubi and congregation, Pastor Hardy along with his wife and family founded Covenant Family Ministries commonly known as Covenant Family Worship Center in Stafford, VA where he is the senior pastor.
