Doctrine of Sin (Hamartiology)
Module 4: Doctrine of Sin (Hamartiology) –The Bible teaches, sin began in the angelic world (Ezekiel 28:11-19; Isa. 14:12-20) and is transmitted into the blood of the human race through disobedience and deception motivated by unbelief (I Tim. 2:14). There are nine segments to this module which cover sin, the problem, origin to the very penalty of sin.
Goal: The goal of the laity minister is to understand the Doctrine of Sin according to the Scriptures.
Learning Objectives: Given the information present at the end of this Module the laity minister will be able to:
Explain the origin and the nature of sin the scriptural references for each.
Evaluate the problem, universality, and imputation of sin with the scriptural references for each.
Discuss the first human sin with the scriptural references for each.
Explain the relation of the original sin and depravity with the scriptural references for each.
Discuss the guilt that comes from sin with the scriptural references for each.
Discussion – Each laity minister will answer the discussion questions which the Pastor will pose to gauge their understanding of the segment. Each discussion response will be 200-350 words summarizing the material for that segment.
Module Paper - Each laity minister will complete a 4-6-page paper after the module explains Man and Sin depicting every aspect of sin containing all biblical references used within the body of the paper and submitted for grading.
