Doctrine of The Church (Ecclesiology) 

Module 7: Doctrine of The Church (Ecclesiology) – This module will dive into the very doctrine of the church, its foundation, the contemporary movements such as ecumenical and the charismatic movements along with the worship among the Foursquare Gospel and other Pentecostal churches. This module has nine segments to complete.

Goal: The goal of the laity minister is to understand the Doctrine of The Church in itself fullness according to the Scriptures.

Learning Objectives: Given the information present at the end of this Module the laity minister will be able to:

  • Explain what “Church” means with the scriptural references for each.

  • Discuss the uses of the term “Church” in and outside the New Testament with the scriptural references for each.

  • Describe the leadership roles within the Church with the scriptural references for each.

  • Describe the mission and the ordinances of the Church with the scriptural references for each.

  • Describe the Church as the Body of Christ with the scriptural references for each.

  • Explain the Church as it pertains to the Kingdom of God. with the scriptural references for each.

  • Translate the metaphors of the Church with the scriptural references for each.


Discussion: Each laity minister will answer the discussion questions which the pastor will pose to gauge their understanding of the segment. Each discussion response will be 200-350 words summarizing the material for that segment.

Module Paper: Each laity minister will complete a 3-5-page paper after the module discusses the Church, who is it according to the Kingdom of God containing all biblical references used within the body of the paper and submitted for grading.

Tuesday: 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Friday: 7:30pm - 8:30pm​​
